The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica has signed a Framework Agreement that will initiate the first large-scale green hydrogen geothermal development in the Caribbean. The sod-turning ceremony for T&T's first grid-scale renewable energy project was held yesterday at Brechin Castle. The ceremony marked the commencement of construction of the solar project which, when completed, will generate 112MW of renewable energy across two sites (Brechin Castle and Orange Grove), making it the largest project of its kind in the Caribbean.

HDF Energy (Hydrogène de France) is delighted to announce the start of construction work on the world’s first mass production plant for high-power hydrogen fuel cells. Representing a major technological and industrial breakthrough, the plant, which has been pre-notified as an IPCEI1, will supply the French domestic and international markets in heavy marine and rail mobility and electricity generation for energy grids. Located on the site of the former Ford factory in Blanquefort near Bordeaux, the new plant will contribute to the reindustrialisation of France and Europe, the creation of local jobs and the exportation of French technology.

IN MANY OF his recent public statements, including at the launch of the major grid-scale solar project, the restructuring of Atlantic and the opening of bids for the onshore bid round, the Minister of Energy, the Honourable Stuart Young, has made impassioned pleas for the pace of delivery to be accelerated. Shell Petroleum NV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell plc (Shell), has reached an agreement with Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP, Pioneer Point Partners and Sampension to acquire 100% shareholding of Nature Energy Biogas A/S (Nature Energy) for nearly US$2 billion (€1.9 billion). The acquisition will be absorbed within Shell’s current capital range, which remains unchanged.
